SOUND OF ELEPHANT I.
This charcoal and pastel drawing was my first remarkable journey with elephants.  We traveled toward each other through the paper veil, until we reached a point of real contact.  I could feel her in the studio, and with every touch of pastel to paper, as the dust of pigment created her I realized that she was creating me also.  I was changing, becoming, growing as a woman within the guidance of this matriarch.
